Interview with Tim about his new radio show

What do you hope people get out of your new show?

I’m a standup philosopher, so I hope the new show will be both entertaining and enquiring. I’m going to be talking with some fascinating Hay House authors from the UK and I want to make our conversations both fun and profound, because that’s the sort of conversations I enjoy myself. And I hope the listeners will too.

Your new book How Long is Now? is coming out in August. Will you tell us about it?

This is the book I have been waiting to write all my life, so I am very excited about it. I share stories from my own strange journey of awakening to help the reader experience a transformation of their own state of consciousness, so that they become ‘deep awake.’ Being deep awake is an amazing experience of all-consuming oneness and all-embracing love ... I really recommend it. It transforms everyday life into an adventure in which you see the wonder of existence and appreciate the mystery of the moment. I’m going to be sharing a lot of stories from How Long Is Now? during my new radio show.

You're known for bringing philosophy back into the mainstream. Why philosophy now?

Philosophy has acquired a reputation for being dull and academic, but actually the opposite is the truth. Philosophy is about asking some really big questions, such as ’what is life?’ ... ‘who am I?’ ... ‘what is the purpose of my existence?’ ... What is death?’ ... To me these are important questions we should always be asking ourselves. So my mission is to make philosophy fun, entertaining and sexy, so that people start caring about how they think as much as they care about how they look!

You often talk about the power of oneness. Why is waking up to oneness so important?

The greatest teaching at the heart of all spiritual traditions is that although we appear to be separate individuals, in realty we are all one. This is extraordinarily important, first and foremost, because it turns out to be true. We really are all one! This is something each of us can know for ourselves by transforming our state of consciousness and becoming ‘deep awake.’ And when we know we are one with all we find ourselves in love with all, because ‘love’ is how oneness feels. My work is all about waking us up to oneness so that we can live in love. I can’t think of anything more important than that.

What's your take on the proposition that we each create our own reality?

I certainly know from some amazing personal experiences that sometimes my intentions can magically become reality. But other times this doesn’t work. I explore why sometimes the magic works and sometimes it doesn’t in my new book How Long Is Now? And I intend to talk about this during my new show ... which is an intention I am fairly confident I can manifest!

Are there any new projects your working on that you'd like to tell us about?

Recently the seminars I have been running have gone to a whole new level, so I am putting together an exciting new weekend seminar program called ‘The Magical Mystery Experience.’ My greatest joy is guiding people to the ‘Magical Mystery Experience,’ so I am really buzzed up about running these new seminars in the US and the UK. I have a feeling they are going to be very special indeed.

What is ‘The Magical Mystery Experience’?

It is truly something that cannot be described by words, but people who’ve attended my previous seminars have said things such as ‘limitless love’ ... ‘enlightenment’ ... ‘pure bliss’ ... ‘oneness’ ... ‘utterly orgasmic’ ... ‘peace beyond understanding’ ... ‘self-knowledge’ ... ‘stillness’ ... ‘connection with all’ ... ‘f**king brilliant’ ... ‘gnosis’ ... ‘ecstasy’ ... ‘better than sex’ ... ‘the Christ within’ ... ‘the thing I’ve been searching for all my life’ ...
